I know it is the tail end of summer. Everyone is concentrating on getting the last glorious moments' of pleasure, good weather, special events, etc. So, people are busy. I understand this.
Facebook has supplanted blogging and visiting message boards for many folks. I know this to be true, though I don't much care for the wide-open and anything goes nature of Facebook myself.
Other bloggers I follow have commented on the lack of response ... fewer and fewer people are commenting. So maybe this is a trend.
But how is it that I have more followers then ever before [75] and yet nobody comments? The humbling notion that I have become a total bore has occured to me! I know I have been obsessing about the round robin in which I am participating lately. I thought it would be a great way to interact with other stitchers but the ugly truth is I am not tempermentally suited to round robin stitching. I am a linen snob who dislikes working on aida, I am a design snob who deplores anything remotely approaching cute and I am beginning to resent the time away from my own projects. I fully intend to keep my committment ... it would be grossly unfair to the others to do otherwise ... I have done my best to come up with interesting charts to use in the round robin and have given my best efforts to these projects. But I look forward to the conclusion. Maybe, once I get back to projects of my own choice, I'll be able to generate a little enthusiasm of my own and that, in turn, will prompt some comments.

I am not registered as one of your followers, but I do keep up with your blog through google reader. I enjoy hearing about your work. Your frustrations & your committment to the round robin certainly hit a chord with me, I don't participate in round robins, probably for very similar reasons. I too am a bit of a snob about the type of work (linen, etc) that I do, but my sense of obligation would have me working on things that I don't enjoy just to meet the committment.
I do enjoy your blog, don't feel that a lack of comments indicates a lack of interest.
Keep on blogging. Please!
It's not one sided - People get busy with work/kids/chores -
I work a full time job, I have 4 children & run my household (I mow my own yard, cook my own food, clean my own house .....) It takes a lot of time - One of my very few breaks is blogging - I very much enjoy the blogs I visit, but don't always have time to "talk" - You are heard, listened to, and seen by many greatfull and busy women ;)
Take Care
And your reasons are exactly the ones I use to avoid round robins and other group projects! As far as commenting goes--I still haven't started a blog but I read a lot of them faithfully while I decide if I want to spend time stitching or blogging. I rarely comment--perhaps I should start so the blogs I enjoy reading will continue.
Hello Riona! Please worry about the lack of comments. I, myself, visit a number of blogs, but rarely comment. (I guess I don't think that what I would have to say is imortant.) Know that many, many people are reading. Lack of comments does not mean that people are not interested in what you have to say or what you are stitching.
So here's a comment- how the heck did you get so many followers? The Four legs Good blog just kinda sits there, and I know people look at it, just from conversations where some one says "I saw blah-blah on your blog", but nobody follows it! And it's about animals! That's easy to like, right? I think you're a step ahead of us, anyway. So there. =P
I've only followed your blog a short time. I'm also guilty of rarely commenting on the blogs I do read. I totally understand about the round robin. I did one. I enjoyed seeing other's stitching in person, but it was a real drag on my time and I was glad when it was over.
Don't stop blogging, or thinking no one cares. Facebook is where I stay connected with my real-life family and friends. Only one of them stitches, so I don't bother posting stitching things there. Blogs are the only place I can follow what others are doing, and it really helps motivate me on my stitching (which I do, but seldom blog about.)
I am Linda, organizer of the infamous Round Robin. I would be lieing if I said I wasn't looking forward to the completion of the RR circle. (one more to go!) Mainly because I want to work on my own projects. But the RR definately served it's purpose. I met several WONDERFUL people, such as yourself whom I consider my cyberfriends. We may never meet, but I do check your blog at least once a week (whenever work allows) and I know I've said it before, but you really should try your hand at writing a novel. You have such a flair for words and I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog. I've always been to shy to comment. Now you've created a monster! lol I'll try to check in more. Linda
I just found your blog and bookmarked! I think people go in spurts whether it is blogging or doing the facebook/twitter thing.
I really enjoy reading stitching blogs for their inspiration even though I don't have a blog myself!
Robin in Virginia
Hi! I am guilty as charged. :o) I usually have a limited amount of time in the evening and I visit blogs daily but don't always comment. I do enjoy reading your blog and will make it a point to comment more often.
I rarely get very many comments, and have wondered about the same thing.
I don't do Facebook. I have lots of blogs in my reader, but rarely have time to read (let alone comment on) most of them.
Hi there - I too confess I am a lurker.
Amen and amen to your comments about round robins. The one I did was a complete chart sectioned off but one member couldn't count and several of us ended up with visible errors in alignment on the finished product. As for me I say never again.
don't dispair over the lack of comments. I still love reading my favorite stitching blogs on my google reader. (of which yours if one..). I think the season is partly to blame...
I take is as everyone is busy right now. At lease I hope I am not driving them off--my comments are down, too. Oh well.
I think it's just crazy-busy for everyone at the moment. I know I'm trying to spend every second with the kids while also getting ready for winter (autumn is such a short season!), preparing for a visit from the ILs, starting a new job, cooking, and SO much more! But I do read your blog on my bloglines! :D
