Black'd Skie Progress

Block 2 is stitched, with the slight change of substituting my father's last year for the charted 1797 which has little or no significance for me ... though, now that I stop and think, wasn't that the year Pride and Prejudice was published?

Beautiful! I like when people personalize designs.

I did a quick google search for the year 1797 to see what wikipedia had to say, and not much went on that year, lots of wars and treaties. P&P came out in early 1800s. An early Feminist died that year, Mary Wollstonecraft and even further searching shows that she was the mother of Mary Shelly (Of Frankenstein fame!) Oh, and John Adams was sworn in as second president. (Great stitching!)

Such a gorgeous block--love how you made it your own with the date change!
