... but I was just reading in Barbara's Mainely Stitching blog that she was beginning to hear echoes on her blog. She was referring to the scarcity of comments. So, just for kicks, I went back through the most recent four or five posts to see how many comments she had received: 28, 11, 9, 12 ... the lowest number was, I believe, 7. I would love to be able to say I got that many comments. I often have no comments. Sometimes, one or two or three, tops. The only time I reach a stratospheric 15 or so is when I am doing a giveaway. I have resigned myself to the fact that my personality and/or writing style makes for a blog that is more monologue than conversation. Sure, I wish I had plenty of feedback but it appears it is not to be. But, Barbara, what is echoing emptiness to some would be a great and joyful noise to others.

*hugs* to you! I sometimes know exactly how you feel.
Hi! I've arrived on your blog by chance, but I wanted to tell you that even if you don't have comments as often as you would like, it doesn't mean your blog is worthless! I LOVE surfing from blog to blog and I rarely leave comment, but be sure that your blog and many others give me a LOT of pleasure and this joy goes along with me all day long. Present worries in my life make me tell you that you give people joy even if you don't know it! Keep on creating and sharing, thanks a lot! written from France
(tried doing this earlier--not sure why it didn't show up . . .)
I check to see if you've written something every day and enjoy your blog tremendously. I rarely, if ever, comment on any blog--generally don't think I have a lot to say. However, since I just started a blog myself, I do wonder if anyone is reading it besides myself--so I know how you feel when there are no comments. Actually, I think if we lived closer, we would be quite good friends!

hi!
another stalker here! I confess... I read your blog every time you post but I never comment...I really enjoy it, but I don't! I love to look at your projects and watch them progress! So please know there ARE people reading and enjoying your blog!
I don't have a post inundation either :)I have 3 or 4 regular posters which I do appreciate very much but I know someone is looking even if it is for a second because the visit counter keeps going up..unless they are all mine lol.
Like you, I am sure, I enjoy the process of putting my "stuff" on my blog *hugs*
I'm another who reads, but rarely comments! Sometimes, it is due to lack of time; sometimes, it is due to the fact I don't have a blog and posting anonymously isn't always an option.

I read, also, but often don't have much time to post because (like now) I'm just home for a quick lunch break. Hope this gives you a bit of encouragement, though!
You know I like to comment! In fact I wonder if people think "oh she's always putting her twopennorth in!"
The only time I don't ccomment on each blog is when I am behind in my reading, everyone seemed to post this Sunday/Monday and I've missed about 30 blogposts out!
And you have a lot of followers too. I usually leave you a comment! I like reading your blog and looking at your progress!
I know how you feel. I love commenting and do on most blogs that I visit, but I think I have to pick up the amount of stitching that I do to have something interesting to put on my blog lol
Riona, dear, I read each and every post, and enjoy all of them! My time is just so limited, that I don't have time to think of something clever to say, so I don't post many comments on any of the blogs I read. It doesn't mean I don't like what I read, just that there aren't enough hours in the day.....
Happy Stitching,
Eva
I don't get alot of comments on my blog either, but hey it is my blog LOL
Hi :) I read your blog and many others all the time - I rarely leave comments however - I think maybe I should change that habit and start posting more :)
Laura
It's not you, it's me! I read so many Blogs before work and don't write in comments. I should take more time to do so. I agree, I only get a lot of posts when I do a giveaway. I will be more vocal from now on.......Nancy
oh Riona I had no idea!
for some mysterious reason I thought that adding comments would have bothered you..!
plus, your blog is the only one I stick to precisely for it's almost like listening to you speaking out your thoughts (and in a very good way) ..I love you goal schedules, and I often find myself a little frightened to see how many unfinished projects you have..! I tend to do the same.. and your constant challenge to complete them is both admirable and boosting more productive habits.. I promise I'll turn from an almost invisible reader to a little more pestering one..!
have nice xxx,
Chiara
Riona as you know I've been popping in and out over the years! I sadly just don't have the time I would like to keep up with every blog I like and every post that goes up!
I kinda have a "visit back" policy when it comes to blogs/commets. I make an effort to visit back (sometimes eventually) and comment on all of my visitors/commentors blogs.
I agree I don't get as many comments as I used to. I figure its because there are more lurkers out there than we're aware of.
I'm another reader sans commenter. I'm still enjoying the ornament you made that I got at Mystic in the exchange a few years ago from with your special changes and signature additions. You keep blogging, I'll keep reading and we'll see about comments. Marilyn
I'm another one who reads your blog often, but comments about 1/3 of the time. I wish I had more hours in the day to leave comments on the blogs I read. I enjoy reading your blog and seeing your creative finishes.
Carolyn
I don't receive many comments on my blog either...
My only excuse for not being a regular commenter is time... I am behind on reading blogs in my list, since I've been away from a computer for awhile, so I've been trying to read quickly. But, when I read this post of yours, I thought I have to comment!!
I do read your blog regularly and enjoy it.
Hi Riona
I read your original post when it first came out but it has taken a while for me to get clear what I want to say. I have been lurking on your blog for quite a while now - in fact I check for new posts every lunchtime at work. I thoroughly enjoy reading about your life and seeing your stitching. Keep up the good work.
